Telair International is a member of the IATA Partnership Programme, a section of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) through which IATA and its Member airlines cooperate with suppliers to the industry.
As a Registered Supplier in the Ramp Services and Unit Load Device areas of involvement, Telair is an active participant to the IATA Ground Handling Council (IGHC) and ULD Working Group. This involves three important groups working for continuous improvements in the Air Transport Industry:
- IATA Airside Safety Group
This is a multidisciplinary working group consisting of airlines, ground handling companies and airports. This group has included human factors research as integral part of its work program with the objective to improve airside safety performance.
General Policy Objectives
- Enhancement of Airside Safety by addressing both human and technical issues
- Prevention of injuries to Personnel and Passengers
- Prevention of damage to Aircraft, Equipment and Facilities.
- IATA Ramp Services and Equipment Group
This group provides guidance in the development of recommendations for industry standards as outlined in Chapter 9 Airport Handling Ground Support Equipment Specifications of the Airport Handling Manual.
General Policy Objectives
- To review and assist in the development of recommendations related to airport ground handling procedures, in particular those related to aircraft and ground handling matters
- To review and assist in the development of functional recommendations, standards, safe operating procedures and training related to ground support equipment
- To act as a forum and focal point for information on future developments and new Ground Support Equipment products and services.
- IATA ULD Working Group
General Policy Objectives
- Develop ULD specifications, guidelines, recommendations and other technical material
- Develop and promulgate any recommendations and guidelines concerning the manufacture, registration, handling, maintenance and control of ULDs
- Study the development and simplification of requirements of airworthiness certification of ULDs and aircraft restraint systems to remove barriers to the full use of ULDs.
