March 2006
Telair International achieved FAA-STC for Main Deck Cargo System on the first B747-400 BCF (Boeing Converted Freighter)
On Dec 13, 2006, a celebration occurred on the airfield of Taeco, Xiamen, PRC to hand over the first B747-400BCF to the launching
customer, Cathay Pacific Airways. This is the first Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) in the world to enter service, and there is
reason for Telair to be proud as well: the aircraft is equipped with a Main Deck Cargo Loading System, delivered and installed by Telair.
After a challenging certification program to the new product rules of the U.S Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Telair was able
to achieve the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for their Main Deck Cargo Loading System exactly on time. This major milestone will
enable Telair to deliver and install their Main Deck Cargo Loading System on all of Boeing's future passenger-to-cargo conversions.
Customers for this B747-400BCF, as well as for the Main Deck Cargo Loading System, include Japan Airlines, Korean Airlines, Martin Air,
Singapore Airlines, Air France, Dragon Air, and Guggenheim Aviation.
Telair currently holds a backlog of 25 firm and 18 option orders reaching out until 2010, which represents 100 percent of Boeing's
current conversion order base.
